The Saturday special
I have given my life to education, first as a teacher of Islamic culture and then as a civil servant in education.
I grew up in a village, and my early years were spread across Sindh, where I came to taste how differently every place cooks. From a young age I loved cooking. I watched cooking shows, read cookbooks and kept experimenting with recipes.
Each Saturday I cook one dish. It is my promise of good, tasty, home-made food.

The people who make it
We buy directly from the people who grow, churn, throw and weave what we sell, and we pay them a fair price before anything leaves their hands.
Delivery and fees
Fresh food and the Saturday special travel on our own Saturday run across Karachi. Pantry items and crafts go anywhere in Pakistan by courier, charged by weight.
Khat and other large pieces are delivered by arrangement; we quote the fee when we confirm your order. Pre-orders are delivered, and their delivery charged, when the harvest comes in.
Gifts and bulk orders
Date boxes for Ramadan, Eid hampers, mango boxes for the office, and year-end gifts with a Hala piece or an ajrak inside. We pack, label and deliver to a list.

When will my order arrive?
Karachi orders placed by Thursday night arrive that Saturday. Courier orders leave the farm within two working days and take 3–5 days to reach you.
How does pre-ordering work?
Anything out of season can be pre-ordered. We hold your place and WhatsApp you when the harvest comes in, then confirm the delivery day and take payment.
How do I order the Saturday special?
Add it to your basket by Thursday night. Portions are limited, and it comes with the Saturday delivery in Karachi.
How do I pay?
Cash on delivery in Karachi. For courier orders and made-to-order pieces, pay by bank transfer or QR once we confirm your total.
Something isn't right with my order
Send a photo on WhatsApp within a day of delivery and we'll replace it or refund it.
Where it comes from
Our own land at Gharo, in the Indus delta, grows coconuts, wheat, rice, mustard, tomatoes and chillies. Our family land in Khairpur gives us dates. Everything else comes from farmers, millers and craftspeople we buy from directly.
You can visit. The farm at Gharo is also home to Unwind, and the store's counter is open to guests and day visitors.
